Waterfront resource is non-renewable for its monopolistic and uniqueness, as a waterfront city, shoreline resources of Chongqing Yongchuan are more than precious; since downtown area is far from Yangtze River and the wharf, the 14-kilometer shoreline along Yangtze River in Zhusonghe area has been regarded as a strategic resource which can realize the great urban dream. In order to efficiently utilize and control these resources, the plan will cover 3 issues including riverfront ecological preservation, utilization of wharfs and waterfronts, urban waterfront space development; shoreline utilization plan has been made to guide the future development of Yangtze River waterfronts, and make sure functions of wharfs and docks, storage and logistics, eco-wetlands, touring waterfront, domestic waterfront and urban public open spaces can cooperate harmoniously together.
