Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park has always been a role model and wind vane for the development of hi-tech parks in China; while facing the dilemma of development space limitation and competitions from other hi-tech parks, how to maintain the advantageous status of Zhangjiang and develop itself in the new period has became the priorities in this round of planning commission.

 

Via questionnaire survey to investigate different working groups in the park including managements, enterprises and employees, and find out the needs and existing issues of current users. The planning schemes aimed at specific issues and came up with a series of solutions, including upgrade land development intensity, extend office area in the park, enhance the connection between park and subway station and develop the surrounding area of subway stations effectively, build up landmark for better park image, increase dining and recreational facilities to enrich the supporting facilities, fully utilize the natural river course to create fascinating waterfront leisure space etc. most importantly, to create an elevated“Innovation Stage” that can connect each singular building, and provide a carrier to connect working environment, life and social, promote the economic effect, social effect and environmental effect of the park, as well as further strengthen its comprehensive competitiveness.
